About the house
Ellwood House is a four-bedroom, split-level home located in Katoomba, New South Wales. It was fully and lovingly renovated in 2022/23.
It features three queen bedrooms and a fourth bedroom with triple bunks. The house sleeps nine with a portable baby cot also available.
There is a full bathroom with luxurious stone bath, separate shower and toilet upstairs with a second toilet downstairs.
The property is located a 1-minute walk from Katoomba Sports and Aquatic Centre which is open year-round with indoor and outdoor facilities including a 50m outdoor pool, heated indoor 25-metre pool, heated toddlers’ pool, spa and sauna and fully-equipped gym and fitness centre.
It is a 7-minute walk to Katoomba Street (main street) where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bottle shops and an eclectic shopping precinct.
A 5-minute drive will take you to Scenic World and Echo Point Lookout (Three Sisters).
About us
Hi, we’re Kate and Hugues de Rocquigny.
We have always loved the mountains - we got married here, we hike, run and trail race here, and it’s where we hope to one day retire.
We purchased the property in early 2022 and it was in need of much love and attention. Fortunately, Hugues is an award-winning builder and over the past 12 months we have invested thousands of hours into turning the property into our home away from home.
Our two young girls call it our “holiday home” but we call it Ellwood - its original name when it was developed in the 1980s. It means “noble wood”.
We hope you will enjoy your stay here as much we do and find a little home away from home.
